As someone mentioned, all the other professions have a superior chant for this or that slot, sockets etc, basically something that gives you a small boost in total stats. They're all pretty well balanced, think Blacksmithing is a little better than the others. This means, to turn it around, Engineering is the only crafting professions where you "lose" stats.
Either makes the engineering chants superior to enchant World of Warcraft Goldon the relevant slots (make the glove haste better than crusher) by a factor similar to the gain seen f Aion other crafting professions.
